The Southern Africa Postal Operators Association is a SADC regional body responsible for the Postal Sector. It was established in 2001 as per the SADC Protocol on Transport and Communication and Meteorology. It is composed of 14 Designated Postal Operators and its Secretariat is located in Maseru, Lesotho.
Our mandate derives from article 11 of the SADC Protocol on Transport and Communications and our duty is to ensure that every sector of the community has access to modern, efficient and diversified range of mail, financial and e-products. To help us fulfil our objectives, we have a unique consultative structure within the communications environment which includes conference of ICT Ministers where policy and strategic Issues are vigorously debated and resolutions passed.
We are an Association of Designated Postal Operators who provide essential services to all sectors of the economy - we therefore touch people's lives whatever their background or identity. We also believe that we must be a world-class support and coordination postal association for the SADC region and our values are underpinned around Excellence, Collaboration, Learning & Innovation , Leadership, Safety & Security.
